Senior Audio QA Technician - CA Sofia
Based at our well-established studio in Sofia, Bulgaria, you will be working as a key member of the team on our upcoming Survival title, the sequel to Alien: Isolation. In this role, you will be able to make a real impact on our games, while bringing your knowledge and experience to help push the boundaries of the genre by collaborating with the wider development team - striving to make our titles better than ever before. As a Senior QA Technician, you will be responsible assisting the survival team audio department in perusing award winning audio quality in our games. This will include finding and entering issues into the project database, working closely with developers to fix and prevent issues and contributing feedback to team to give the best possible user experience to our players. We are looking for someone who can work independently with an excellent eye and ear for detail and can apply a methodical approach to tasks and problem solving to find and accurately log defects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the audio arts with previous experience working in QA in a development environment, is familiar with the development process and has a technical background in a relevant audio focused discipline. Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary functions of the role are to be an expert in the current and desired quality and experience of our game, and to assist the audio team in bridging a gap between the two.This will include finding and reporting defects in the game, reporting on overall quality and experience, understanding the overarching and immediate goals of the audio team and using that knowledge to triage issues, escalate Key/critical issues and assist the team in meeting its targets and overall quality goals. It will also include feeding back on the users experience both generally and from an audio perspective and helping the team understand the impact of their work to player value.
As a Senior Audio QA you have autonomy and freedom to support and assist the audio team in the best way possible based on your experience and skill and the changing needs of the audio team
You will be responsible for recording and communicating test results and task progress daily, including completion info status, in the requested formats as well as verification and regression of defects that have been fixed. You will be expected to acquire in depth knowledge of core features for titles in development and use in house tools to improve bug quality and accuracy.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay important information in the most suited format.
- Previous experience in an audio related field
- Experience using audio middleware software such as Wwise.
- Proficient time management and organisational skills, able to handle multiple tasks and meet set deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to follow set process and a methodical approach when investigating issues.
- Ability to self-manage and generate tasks to drive the process and testing of an area
- Wide ranging experience playing a variety of PC video games including the Real-Time Strategy genre of games.
- A passion for video games and a desire to be part of the creative process involved in developing video games.
- Experience with the Alien Isolation Game
- 3+ years of experience in audio testing or audio fields
- To be a true enthusiast for audio quality in games
Desirable
- Previous QA Experience working in Games or other related fields is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working on a AAA title in a development studio.
- Knowledge of the development process and the various disciplines involved.
- Experience using Jira, DevSuite and Perforce.
- Experience using Wwise software development tool.
- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum principles and how they are applied to teams and QA
- Experience working with the internal CA Audio tools is extremely desirable
- Experience working In the unreal editor / unreal games
- Knowledge of how to fix basic audio defects
- Understanding on Agile process and games development methododgies
