Company Overview

SEGA Centre of Excellence Sofia is dedicated to serving SEGA’s Development teams in providing quality, timely, and effective QA services. The Centre is based in Business Park Sofia, nearby Mladost 4 district.

We assist all studios with publishing QA and validation functions. We support the needs of the development studios and make the creative vision become a reality.

Position Overview

How would you like to work on the world’s leading football management simulation, Football Manager?

We’re looking for bright and motivated Football Manager enthusiasts to join us on a temporary basis as Functionality Games Testers.

This position is an excellent opportunity for Football Manager fans and people wanting to make a start in an industry which is fast-paced, dynamic and above all – a lot of fun!

Getting the chance to work on Football Manager before launch, you’ll be responsible for testing the game to ensure it plays as the developers intended it to and that it is free from any bugs.

This is an excellent opportunity that will give you the qualification and means to start a career in games QA.

Please note that this is a project-based position, continuing approximately till the end of March 2027.

We are unable to offer visa assistance and all applicants must have full eligibility to work in Bulgaria to be considered for this opportunity.
The role is based in our Sofia office, with some flexibility to work on a hybrid model (a mix of three days working at the office and two days home working).

Temporary contract for 6 up to 12 months. 40 hours per week.

We employ a hybrid working model with at least 3 days in office, predefined according to the project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned test plans and test cases thoroughly and consistently across various game builds and platforms.
  • Perform exploratory testing throughout development to uncover functional and usability issues.
  • Identify, track, and prioritize bugs based on severity, impact, and risk to the product.
  • Create clear, accurate, and complete bug reports in English, including proper naming conventions, detailed reproduction steps, and supporting evidence (screenshots/video).
  • Maintain organized testing documentation and keep test cases or checklists updated as features evolve.
  • Communicate issues promptly and professionally with QA teammates, developers, designers, and producers.
  • Participate in group testing sessions, including multiplayer tests and coordinated feature sweeps.
  • Provide constructive feedback on gameplay, controls, balance, and overall user experience.
  • Follow instructions, test procedures, and project workflows reliably and within required deadlines.
  • Support senior QA staff and project leads by performing additional tasks aligned with the QA role (e.g., smoke tests, regression passes, build verification).
  • Offer suggestions that may improve the gameplay experience or enhance QA processes.
  • Execute additional requests or assignments made by senior staff or management that fall within the QA remit.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of football, including rules, tactics, team rosters, transfer windows, major leagues, and football history.
  • Familiarity with the Football Manager series is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate clearly with international colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to think critically when evaluating gameplay, features, and potential issues.
  • Experience with multiple gaming platforms (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS) is beneficial.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High personal work standards and a motivation to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Collaborative mindset, with a proactive attitude toward assisting colleagues and maintaining a positive approach under pressure.
  • Adaptability and openness to learning, with a willingness to improve personal skills and contribute to process enhancements.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently, staying focused and productive without constant supervision.
  • Flexible approach to testing, able to adjust methods as project needs evolve.
  • Experience with bug-tracking systems (e.g., Jira) is an advantage.
