Environment Art Director
Creative Assembly is looking for an Environment Art Director to join our talented team to work on our new project, a sequel to Alien:Isolation. This role will be based at our studio in Horsham, West Sussex and can be offered as hybrid or in-studio. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process. As an Environment Art Director on the team, you will be responsible for leading a team of artists to shape the vision of our game world and deliver high-quality immersive environments.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Work closely with Art Director to define and execute environment direction for the project.
- Lead a team of environment and lighting artists providing feedback, guidance and mentorship
- Work closely with design and other disciplines to ensure environments provide the best player experience
- Coordinate environment resources, schedules and priorities based on project needs.
- Ensure the team maintains high-quality artistic results and delivers them on schedule
- Work with rendering engineers and technical artists to develop pipelines and documentation
- Communicate well, with all disciplines, and be well organised.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in video game industry
- A thorough understanding of modern environment art pipelines with working knowledge of modern 3D software
- Keen artistic eye with attention to detail, combined with an understanding of colour theory, composition, and main principles of visual storytelling
- Strong awareness of industry technology trends
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable
- UE5 experience
- Proficiency in Blender
